Lester Prairie loves to celebrate, and has many traditional events and activities planned throughout the year.
Prairie Days is Lester Prairie’s community celebration featuring contests, games, food, fireworks, and live music. In 2020, the celebration is set for July 17 -18 at the 2nd Ave. Park.
There will be a bean bag tournament for adults and teenagers. Saturday at 6 p.m. is the grand parade. Fireworks will be at dusk.

Garage sale day
Garage Sale Day in Lester Prairie has been a tradition since 1979. The event takes place the third Saturday in September, with 80 to 100 sales in the area, and this is the event’s 41st year. For more information, email Troy Feltmann at email@example.com.
The LP Lions and LP Business Association host a holiday celebration in December. The Lions host a pancake breakfast. The LPBA sponsor Santa Claus. Attendees can get pictures with Santa, and the kids can tell Santa what they want for Christmas. Students from LPHS perform holiday music throughout the morning.
Easter egg hunt
The Lester Prairie Lions Club will sponsor an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 11 at 9 a.m. at 2nd Ave Park. Kids get to hunt for eggs. One lucky winner who finds the golden egg will get a prize. At the conclusion, every kid gets a bag of treats.
Business Halloween Trick or Treat
The Lester Prairie Business Association sponsors a trick or treating event with the downtown businesses from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Halloween.
National Night Out
Lester Prairie Police Department hosts a National Night Out event each August in Central Square Park, downtown Lester Prairie. The Lester Prairie Fire Department and Ridgeview Medical also participate. Food is provided by the Lester Prairie Lions Club. National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhoods safer.
