Lester Prairie loves  to celebrate, and has many traditional events and activities planned throughout the year.

Prairie Days

Prairie Days in Lester Prairie’s community celebra­tion featuring contests, games, food, fireworks, and live music. The celebration will be July 12 and 13, 2024 at 2nd Ave. Park.
Previous activities have included kids’ games, live music, a car show, a bean bag tournament for adults and teenagers, a grand parade, and fireworks.

Garage sale day

Garage Sale Day in Lester Prairie has been a tradition since 1979. The event typically takes place on the third Saturday in September.

Holiday celebration

The LP Lions and LP Business Association usually arrange a holiday celebration in December. The Lions host a pancake breakfast. The LPBA sponsors Santa Claus. Attendees can get pictures with Santa, and the kids can tell Santa what they want for Christmas. Stu­dents from LPHS perform holiday music throughout the morning.

Easter egg hunt

The Lester Prairie Lions Club sponsors an Easter Egg Hunt the Saturday before Easter at 2nd Ave Park. Children hunt for eggs, and one lucky winner who finds the golden egg receives a prize. In the conclusion, every kid gets a bag of treats.

Business Halloween Trick or Treat

The Lester Prairie Business Association sponsors a trick-or-treat event with the downtown businesses on Halloween.

National Night Out

Lester Prairie Police Department hosts a National Night Out event each August in Central Square Park, downtown Lester Prairie. The Lester Prairie Fire Department and Ridgeview Medical also participate. Food is served by the Lester Prairie Lions Club. National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhoods safer.
